Hand wash only and avoid immersing in water. Dry right away to keep wood from cracking. Our Essential Waffle Dish Towel is super absorbent and will make this quick.
Oil regularly with food-grade oil, like mineral oil. (In a pinch, we use olive oil.) Occasionally, the wood might need to be lightly sanded for smoothness.
Don’t leave near fire or hot metals - the wood can burn (but you knew that already).

Edges are very rough and splintery.

The Pebble Boards are untreated wood, so if they are exposed to water and not dried thoroughly, and oiled, they run the risk of some splintering. This can be easily removed, though, and you should have no problem maintaining them in this way for many years to come.
