Step Inside: Holiday Home Tour

The holiday season is here, and with it comes the joy of decorating your home to reflect the festive spirit. Whether you’re getting guest-ready or simply want to spruce up your space, we've rounded up a room-by-room guide of seasonal styling tips.

Kitchen + Dining

The kitchen is often called the heart of the home—and for good reason. It’s where recipes are shared, cookies are baked, and cherished food memories come to life. This holiday season, give your kitchen an extra dose of cheer by displaying sweet treats on beautiful platters, plates, or trays. Even a simple batch of sugar cookies feels special when served on a fun, holiday-themed dish.

When setting the table, pair ceramic dinnerware with charming accents like straw snowflakes, a vintage-inspired tray, or a wooden bowl brimming with wrapped candies. These thoughtful touches not only create an inviting display for guests but also serve as festive decor when placed on the counter or dining table.

Living Room

The living room is often where the magic of the season unfolds—think movie marathons, gift exchanges, puzzles, and long chats by the fire. To create a warm and inviting atmosphere, layer your space with throw pillows and blankets in classic Christmas colors like red, green, and ivory (or for a fresh take, go with sage, persimmon, and olive tones).

Opt for textures that add comfort, such as knits, mohair, or velvet. A plaid blanket casually draped over the arm of a sofa or a few pillows can instantly set the tone. Don’t forget subtle accents like candle holders or a bowl of pinecones on the coffee table to tie the room together. These small touches can make your space feel like a cozy retreat.

Guest Bedroom

If you're hosting overnight guests, the guest room is an ideal space for seasonal decor while maintaining a calm interior atmosphere. Add a pop of holiday color with bedding that’s easy on the eyes, such as a red or green quilt, fresh greenery, or a cozy blanket at the foot of the bed.

You can also incorporate seasonal scents, like a small pine-scented candle or room spray with notes of cinnamon or peppermint, to enhance the ambiance. A tray with a carafe of water, a small dish of chocolates, and a handwritten welcome note can make guests feel even more at home.

Bathroom

Don’t overlook the bathroom when decorating. This often-forgotten space can be transformed into a seasonal retreat with just a few thoughtful touches. Start by swapping out everyday hand towels for ones in playful colors or patterns (our favorite are these olive-toned striped towels).

Add a small vase of fresh greenery or holly on the counter to bring in a natural, seasonal element. For a spa-like atmosphere, include a seasonally scented candle (think cedar, pine, or palo santo) and a tray with soaps or bath salts. If you have guests, elevate their experience by setting out travel-sized toiletries wrapped in festive ribbons or placing a small basket with essentials like lotion and tissues.

Finishing Touches for Anywhere

It’s often the little things that make a big difference in creating a warm and welcoming home. A stack of cozy throw blankets, a decorative tchotchke, or even a holiday-themed book placed thoughtfully can bring charm to any corner. These finishing touches tie everything together, making your space feel effortlessly elevated and inviting.
